I've been seeing several of the 17-year (I guess) variety lying
prostrate on the ground the past few days, either dead or half-dead.
Must be a continuous gourmet dinner for robins and other insect-eating
birds.
Then the 14-year variety are due in June and the "regular" annual ones
emerge in July I think.
Haven't noticed any shrill noise yet but I'm sure it will happen soon enough.
